Länderübersicht

Mosambik, offiziell die Republik Mosambik, ist ein Land im Südosten Afrikas. Die Hauptstadt ist Maputo. Es leben etwa 31 Millionen Menschen dort. 1975 wurde Mosambik von Portugal unabhängig (Nationalfeiertag am 25. Juni 1975). Der Name des Landes stammt von der Insel Mosambik, die einst die Hauptstadt von Portugiesisch-Afrika war. Nach der Unabhängigkeit wurde das Land zur Volksrepublik Mosambik. Von 1977 bis 1992 herrschte dort ein Bürgerkrieg.
